Customer Rating: Summary: Gotta love it! Comment: This is such a fun CD and some of the songs make a lasting impression and are great to use the classroom (ie. "Vowels and Important Letters.."). This is a popular one in our house.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great for Kids and Adults Comment: This is my 5 year old's favorite album. She knows every song by heart. I also find myself singing the songs in the shower. I have been a TMBG fan for as long as I can remember. They did not dilute their style to suite the younger audience. The DVD is a little strange but worth watching.
Customer Rating: Summary: They Might Be Giants, ABC's Comment: I love "They Might Be Giants", but these songs are a little slower than their "numbers" dvd. Not as attention-grabbing for the kids.
Customer Rating: Summary: "Out Of Order ABCs" Comment: I feel that for ABCS to become giants, first of all of there has to be order! Generally, children are eager to learn and are fast learners. From Pre-school thru the early Elementary grades, the alphabets are taught in sequential order from A-Z. This DVD skips carelessly about and randomly selects out of order letters from the alphabets as they are presented in song. It is definitely not a great DVD for beginning learners. I would be equally afraid to order the giant numbers DVD created by the same publishers for fear of it producing numbers that are totally out of order as well! Don't be disappointed, find a DVD that's simple and repetitious for early learners if you want success.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not impressed Comment: I was hoping to use this DVD as an aid to teach my toddler alphabets, but was not impressed with the DVD. I prefer Leapfrog letter factory which is entertaining and educational

No stranger to the realm of children's records, They Might Be Giants have seen success with their CD No! and the book-and-CD combo Bed, Bed, Bed. Their latest CD, Here Come the ABCs, offers up 25 alphabetically themed songs. However, as is their charming way, the two Johns (Flansburgh and Linnell), use the letters as merely the connective tissue, allowing them to pursuit intriguing flights of fancy that consider everything from the relative power of letters and sounds to animal hijinks. Just as they've always done, there are wistful ballads and high octane rockers. TMBG have always been a family-friendly band, and this disc works just fine for adult fans, who can rightfully consider this simply their newest release. --David Greenberger
